General Awareness:

Questions are designed to test the ability of the candidate‟s general awareness of the environment around him and its application to society. Questions are also designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of everyday observation and experience in their scientific aspect as may be expected of an educated person. The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighbouring countries especially pertaining to History, Culture Geography, Economic Scene, General policy and scientific research.
NOTE-1: For VH candidates of 40% and above visual disability and opting for SCRIBES there will be no component of Maps/Graphs/Diagrams/Statistical Data in the General Intelligence & Reasoning / General Awareness Paper.
NOTE-2: The questions will be of the level to commensurate with Educational Qualification prescribed for the posts.

Important tips for preparation of SSC-Combined Higher Secondary Level (10+2) Examination (PA/SA Exam)

1. Collect the syllabus of the ssc exam. You can download it from the official website of SSC.

2. Get the ssc exam books of a better publication and also get the separate books for each of the section of ssc exam paper.

3. Make a time table of your study. 

4. Study for at least 4 hrs a day for a year.

5. Study with full concentration and try to clear your basics of the topics.

6. Remember shortcuts of doing the questions and also create your own shortcuts to solve the problems faster.

7. You can also buy various books for learning shortcuts for solving problems for ssc exam.

8. Remember the shortcut techniques to solve the problem given the ssc exam paper faster. It will help solve the ssc exam paper quickly and you can solve more questions as it will improve your speed.

9. You need to work on your speed of solving problems. For that practice one previous year question paper daily to improve your speed putting yourself in the time limit.

10. Work more on your weaker sections and make them stronger with practice. Practice more and more because practice make a men perfect.

11. In the ssc paper, solve as many questions as you can but only do those which you know well. Don’t do those question which you are not sure about. Remember there is negative marking in the ssc exams.

12. If you got stuck on a particular question then move on to next one but don’t waste your precious time on particular question.

13. Always wear a watch while giving any type of paper as it will keep you updated with time.

14. Work on your quickness to solve problems and build speed of solving problem. Most of the aspirants fails in these tests because of the time limit.

15. Work harder with consistency will lead you to qualify this exam

PA / SA Notification 2015

Staff Selection Commission has notified the Combined Higher Secondary Level (10+2) Examination, 2015. The Staff Selection Commission will hold an examination for Recruitment of Postal Assistants/Sorting Assistants, Data Entry Operators and Lower Divisional Clerks on Sundays 01.11.2015, 15.11.2015 and 22.11.2015. Opening Date for Online Registration: 13 June 2015
Closing Date for Online Registration: 13 July 2015 (5:00PM)
Date of Examination: 1 November 2015, 15 November 2015 and 22 November 2015

Postal Assistant/Sorting Assistant PB -1(Rs. 5200-20200) Grade Pay 2400

Vacancies: Tentatively the vacancies for the post of Postal Assistant/Sorting Assistant, LDC and DEO are 3523, 2049 and 1006 respectively.

Educational Qualification ( As on 01.08.2015)
* Must have passed 12th Standard or equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University.
* Candidates who have not acquired but will acquire the educational qualification and acquire documentary evidence from the Board/University in support thereof as on 01.08.2015 will also be eligible.

Age Limit: 18-27 years as on 01.08.2015 (Candidates born not before 02-08-1988 and not later than 01-08-1997.) .Age relaxation as applicable for different categories.

How to apply:
Applications must be submitted only in the prescribed format (Annexure-I) On-line or by Post. Detailed instructions as in Annexure - II A or Annexure - II B, may be referred to for postal applications and on-line applications respectively.

Scheme of the Examination: The Examination will be conducted in three tiers as indicated below-
Tier -I -- Written Examination (Objective Multiple Choice Type)
Tier -II -- Written Examination (Objective Multiple Choice Type)
Tier -III -- Personality Test cum Interview/Computer Proficiency Test/Skill Test (wherever applicable)/Document Verification.

Please note: The Commission reserves the right to make changes in the scheme of examination such as conduct of Tier-I and Tier-II examination in on-line mode, treating Tier-I examination as only qualifying and not conducting personality test cum interview for some or all posts etc.

Application Fee:
--Rs. 100 (One hundred only)
Payment of application fee is exempted for all women candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Physically Handicapped and
Ex-servicemen eligible for reservation, as per Government orders.
** For Paper or Off-Line Applications: Candidates should pay the fee by means of Central Recruitment Fee Stamps (CRFS) only.
** The candidates submitting application form online (computer based) should pay the fee of Rs 100 (Rupees one hundred only) by means of SBI Challan or Online payment through Net banking or any credit/debit cards only.

Scheme of Examination:
The examination will consist of a Written Examination and Skill Test for the post of Data Entry Operator and Written Test and Typing Test for the post of Postal
Assistant & Sorting Assistant (PA/SA) and Lower Division Clerk on Computer.

Written examination (Objective type):
Part I: General Intelligence (50 questions) - 50 Marks
Part II: English Language (Basic Knowledge) ( 50 questions ) - 50 Marks
Part III: Quantitative Aptitude (Basic Arithmetic Skill) (50 questions) - 50 Marks
Part IV: General Awareness (50 questions) - 50 Marks

Total: 200 Marks
Total Duration /Timing: 2 Hours (10.00 A.M. to 12.00 Noon) or (2:00 PM to 4:00 PM)
Note: The proposal for online examination is under consideration of the Government of India and if approved examination may be held on-line.
There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.
